Maqkwokani Chapter

Thanks to everybody who came to the last meeting. We had a really good turn out...46 people! Hopefully everybody liked the guest speaker and the Native American food. Our chapter has been doing a really good job this year. I guess that our chapter truely is a Quality Chapter! Thanks everybody. Make sure you attend Winter Banquest when we recieve the Quality Chapter award! It is gonna be really cool.

The next meeting is January 10 2008, 7-8:30PM at Fox Valley Techincal College, Room A161 (enter at door 15). Make sure you are there...and bring a friend! Please note that, that is from 2008. and not for the 2009 year.

Hey guys, I am hoping that we can get this award again this year! I think that it is very do able! If we did get it, it would be our 4th year!

For those of you who don't know exactly what we need to do...here is the requirements:

Quality Chapter Recognition Petition

CHAPTER NAME:

Recognition is given to each chapter in Awase Lodge #61 that completes the requirements as listed. The requirements are established to meet National guidelines for Quality Lodge recognition and to encourage chapter participation. A chapter that qualifies will receive public recognition in the ONAMOW and/or the Guide, a certificate and $50 toward a chapter pizza party or other fun activity

To qualify as an Awase Lodge Quality Chapter, the chapter must: comply with all requirements in the current printings of the OA Handbook, Guide for Officers and Advisers, Field Operations Guide, and ceremonies guides; achieve items 1 through 7 below; and achieve four of the remaining items. During the term September 1 to August 31: (Check each item achieved)

*1. The chapter experienced positive growth in its membership. Prior year membership _______ Current year membership ___________

*2. The chapter inducted a minimum of 30% of its eligible Ordeal members into Brotherhood. Eligible Ordeal members ______ Inducted to the Brotherhood _________

*4. After contacting each troop and team in the district, the chapter conducted elections in every unit desiring an election. The election teams were trained, and all team members were in proper uniform during each unit election. A camp promotion session was held at each unit election. *5. The chapter has promoted the Order of the Arrow Troop/ Team Representative program and a minimum of 50% of district troops/teams with youth OA members have this position filled. District troops/teams _______ Number of troop/team OA Representatives __________

*6. The chapter met once monthly from September through May with a mix of business and fun activities.

*7. The chapter had at least two youth and one adult in attendance at the Lodge Leadership Development Conference.

8. The chapter maintained an Ordeal ceremony team that performed at either Spring or Fall Conference. The ceremonial team was well-trained and had parts memorized.

9. The chapter maintained a Brotherhood ceremony team that performed at either Spring or Fall Conference. The ceremonial team was well-trained and had parts memorized.

10. A minimum of 25% of dues-paid chapter youth attended Fall Conference.

11. A minimum of 25% of dues-paid chapter youth attended Winter Banquet.

12. A minimum of 25% of dues-paid chapter youth attended Winter Conference.

13. A minimum of 5 chapter youth attended Section Conclave.

14. The chapter had a youth representative at each Lodge Executive Committee meeting.

15. A minimum of 5% of Chapter arrowmen earned the Leadership in Service Award in the current program year.

16. The Chapter produced and distributed a minimum of four newsletters to its members and contributed articles to all four issues of the Onamow.

17. The Chapter participated as a group on staff for a district event or program.
